We’re delighted to announce that this year’s campaign is being backed by TV & Radio property expert, Martin Roberts.
For 14 years Martin has presented a popular property auction show, guiding viewers through the pitfalls and perks of buying property at auction. Yet he says that rarely, if ever, does anybody mention radon. Martin will be working as an Ambassador for radon awareness to try and change that, and ensure that people know to test their homes and workplaces for radon.
We’re also very grateful to have the support of Dr Aaron Goodarzi, Canada Research Chair for Radiation Exposure Disease and general radon-superscientist. Through his research at University of Calgary,
Dr Goodarzi became involved in finding ways to engage with stakeholders on the risks of radon exposure. In 2017 he founded the Evict Radon campaign which saw over 10,000 Canadians testing their home in the first year.
With just 10 days to go until the start of UK Radon Awareness Week 2019, the UK Radon Association hopes that by combining science and celebrity the campaign will attract a wide range of interest from the media and spread the message far and wide.
