Radon in education

Simple radon detectors using a radiation sensitive plastic and a used yoghurt pot can be used to measure radon in buildings or in the soil as part of teaching radioactivity or as part of exploring the natural environment around.

 

 

 

Free plastic can be obtained from Track Analysis Systems Ltd as part of Radon Awareness Week and teachers notes with suggestions on how to do the experiments can be found hereimg_1531
